The first CEC ever was organized in May 1998 in Tuheljske Toplice, Croatia. It was organized by the initiative of Thomas Haim, former National Secretary of IAESTE Austria, and Mario Kauzlaric, former National Secretary of IAESTE Croatia. Because of its great success, the CEC is being held two times a year, in a rotation schedule – so each country will organize the event every five years. Any country having the status Full member of CER has the right to organise CEC.
Attending CEC helps you to connect with students from the wider central European area, enhance cooperation among IAESTE Local committees in Central Europe, and get educated on various workshop topics and beyond. And of course, get to know the culture of the hosting Country.
