39th IAESTE Central European Convention in Poland

It was a great honour for IAESTE Poland to host almost 200 members from 18 IAESTE countries from the Central European Region (CER) countries and some guests from other countries on the 39th IAESTE Central European Convention, which was held for the second time in Poland in Wadowice – the hometown of John Paul II.

IAESTE Central European Convention (CEC) is an international event organized by IAESTE for members of all CER countries (Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Macedonia, Turkey). Guests are also members of committees located in Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Ireland. This event takes place twice a year. The CEC was found in May 1998 in Tuheljske Toplice (Croatia), on the initiative of Thomas Haim, former National Secretary of IAESTE Austria, and Mario Kauzlaric, former National Secretary of IAESTE Croatia.

There was a wide range of workshops prepared for participants. Everybody had an opportunity to take part in two from ten workshops offered. We have shown all positive aspects of different activities in IAESTE, tackled new challenges together and strengthened the exchange of knowledge and experience between different member countries.

Following the tradition, on Saturday evening all participants took part in the International  Evening, which was a great opportunity to get to know and interact with other countries.

We wish to thank all the participants for contributing to the unforgettable atmosphere of this event. In today’s world the cultural understanding and other IAESTE values are more important than ever, so let’s hope that the future CECs can continue to make their contribution to IAESTE mission.
